Spanish in Spain Booking Terms and Conditions.

Please ensure that you read the following booking conditions carefully, as they form the contract between the group and Leir Education Limited.

By booking a foreign school tour with Leir Education Limited, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These conditions form a binding contract between Leir Education Limited and the school, the parents/guardians of students, and all participants.

  1. Booking and Payment
    1. Booking Confirmation: To secure a place, a booking form must be completed and signed by a parent or guardian, along with a deposit payment
    2. Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of €350.00 per student is required to confirm the booking. This deposit is payable within 10 days of the initial booking.
    3. Final Payment: The full payment is due no later than 6 weeks before departure. Failure to make the final payment by the due date may result in the cancellation of the booking and loss of deposit.
    4. Late Bookings: For bookings made after the final payment date, full payment will be required at the time of booking, and the booking will be subject to availability.
    5. Payment Schedule: Payments can be made in instalments as will be outlined in the payment schedule provided at the time of the booking confirmation.
    6. Payment Methods: Payments can be made via bank transfer, to the nominated bank account quoting the reference number as specified by Leir Education Limited.
  2. Cancellation and Refunds
    1. Cancellation by the School/Parent/Guardian: Cancellations must be made in writing and received by Leir Education Limited via email to peter@leir.ie please note the cancellation of a booking is effective only once it has been received in writing by the Company and from the group leader, any cancellation charges will be calculated from this date. Deposits are non-refundable but can be transferred to a replacement passenger, where an applicable name change fee may apply. The following cancellation charges will apply:
      1. 35 – 60 days before departure date: 80% of the tour price.
      2. 35 days or less before departure: 100% of the tour price.
    2. Cancellation by Leir Education Limited: If we must cancel the tour due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., political instability, natural disasters, or insufficient bookings), we will offer a full refund or an alternative tour of comparable standard. Leir Education Limited will not be responsible for any additional costs incurred, such as visa fees, travel or any personal expenses.
  3. Amendments
    1. Changes by the School: Requests to amend the booking after confirmation must be made in writing. We will do our best to accommodate changes, but any additional costs incurred (such as revised accommodation or transport fees) will be the responsibility of the school/participants.
    2. Changes to Itinerary: Leir Education Limited reserves the right to make changes to the tour itinerary, accommodation, or transport arrangements in response to unforeseen circumstances. Where possible, we will notify the school of these changes and provide alternatives of similar quality.
  4. Insurance
    1. Mandatory Insurance: All participants must have comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellations, medical emergencies, repatriation, and personal liability. Proof of insurance must be provided to Leir Education before the tour departs.
    2. Leir Education Limited is not responsible for any costs or losses not covered by insurance.
  5. Visas and Travel Documents
    1. Passports and Visas: It is the responsibility of the school/participants to ensure that all students and accompanying adults have a valid passport and any necessary visas for travel to Spain. Leir Education Limited is not responsible for any issues arising from incorrect or invalid travel documentation.
    2. Travel Documents: Leir Education Limited will provide all necessary travel documents (tickets, itineraries, accommodation details) to the school [X weeks] before departure.
  6. Code of Conduct
    1. Behavioural Expectations: Students are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully during the tour. Leir Education Limited reserves the right to send any student who poses a safety or behavioural risk may be sent home at their own expense plus any other expense incurred by Leir Education Limited.
    2. Alcohol and Drugs: The consumption of alcohol and or drugs is strictly prohibited. Violation of this rule will result in immediate dismissal from the tour and will be sent home at their own expense plus any other expense incurred by Leir Education Limited.
    3. School Policies: All participants must adhere to the school’s code of conduct and any additional rules set by Leir Education Limited and or the Campus during the tour.
  7. Medical Conditions and Special Requirements
    1. Disclosure: It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to inform Leir Education Limited of any medical conditions, dietary restrictions, or special requirements at the time of booking. Failure to do so may affect the participant’s ability to join the tour, and Leir Education Limited and or its partners, staff or representatives will not be held liable for any related issues if undisclosed.
    2. Medical Care: In the event of a medical emergency, Leir Education Limited will take reasonable measures to ensure the student receives appropriate care. Any medical costs not covered by insurance will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
  8.  Liability
    1. Leir Education Limited’s Responsibility: We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the tour operates as described. However, we are not liable for events beyond our control, such as delays, changes to the itinerary, or unforeseen expenses. Our liability is limited to the cost of the tour itself.
    2. School’s Responsibility: The school and parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that students adhere to the rules and respect the local laws, culture, and customs of the destination. The school must ensure adequate supervision of students throughout the tour and their representatives must be willing to cooperate with all additional monitors as per the program details.
  9. Force Majeure
    1. Leir Education Limited will not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations if such failure is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to war, terrorism, pandemics, natural disasters, or government-imposed travel restrictions.
  10. Complaints
    1. Procedure: Any complaints about the tour must be reported to the tour leader or a Leir Education Limited representative at the time of the issue, allowing us to resolve the problem. If the complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, it must be submitted in writing within 3 days of the tour’s conclusion.
  11. Governing Law
    1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the rep of Ireland and any disputes arising from this contract will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
  12. Data Protection
    1. Leir Education Limited will collect personal information which will only be used for the purpose of organising the tour, and will not share this information with any third parties except where necessary for the administration of the trip.
  13. Agreement
    1. By signing the booking form and making the deposit payment, the parent/guardian agrees to these terms and conditions on behalf of the participant.
